A day Photographing Goshawks

Weather can be a killer making great photographgs in to poor ones. In this case the weather although dull helped keep the tones natural and real. I love the raw feel to the images taken in a dark wood in the peaks. Taken at a high ISO to capture this stunning bird also provides a grainy
finish which i feel helps set off the images.

Due to the weather i decided to hold off going for the kingfisher as the light was poor in the morning. But once it got to around 10am, the light levels started to increase so off I went and managed to get the shot shown. I have also put in a new kingfisher post so hope to get some shots on this soon. COMING UP : Goshawk - Harvest Mice so please come back to see these images.

Sorry for the lack of posts, after removing all the past posts I am going to try and keep this as up to date as possible. After getting some great images of the kingfisher, I have decided to go back and have another crack at it with my pop up hide away from the Jo-public. So early set off tomorrow to get plonked at the side of the river in hope to capture it once again. I am hoping for some good weather but would be a good image if I could get a shot in a downpour. Come back in a few days to see if i managed to get the shots.

Its the time of year when you cannot tell if the weather forcast is correct, nor if you go out will you get wet. Sunday the forcast was ok , so I trotted off down to the local nature reserve. I was able to capture this kingfisher, and not only did I get to photograph it i stood and watched it for 3 hours back and forth fishing etc. I will be heading of there on thursday to give this another go, but may not be so lucky this time. On both these images iIjust love the colours and the small in the frame kingfisher really sets them off with the berrys as well just makes these that extra special.
