Part 2

At the end of the day as the light faded I headed for home. on the way back a sunset for Friday Thorpe awaited me and was able to get some great final shots of the day. ( Saved for later ;-) ). Would just like to say thanks to the individual who came with me and allowed me to borrow the lens for the landscapes, you know who you are!

The East Coast Part 1

Again another early start to the coast for waders and did it deliver. A fantastic day of several species frequenting the shoreline feeding of dead fish and crabs that the fishermen discarded in the morning.

For the very start the sunrise was superb as showing in the first photo above. A fantastic display then on birds bathing and feeding followed through the day. Not once did I find my self with nothing to photograph, it was non stop action

Deer In The Freeze

This Year I could not stop the temptation of going out in the cold to target these stunning animals. The risk of going out in these conditions came all too true when my little car become stuck in the snow after leaving it to photograph the deer. I did manage to get it out with a bit of force full driving.

I have always wanted to do deer in snow on digital and the last time I did them was on film and never had the gear to do the job.

Little Grebe

Although not the target subject I wanted to photograph this day, I finally got some good shots of Little Grebe. The light was good and the water was clear providing me with some good reflections which works really well.

Barn Owl - the chase

Allot of effort for a few shots, after driving round for an hour this evening in a spot I know that's good for owls, which i have done for the past few weeks I finally got shots of this owl. a very pale bird but still great to see. After these shots the owl flew out of sight, i quick dash to the car and a drove up the road found the owl sitting on the road side edge. After spinning the car around and upsetting a few drivers I managed to get in position. by the time i had stopped the owl again took off back to the field I photographed it in and not to been seen again this eve. I will be back for more

Kestrel

On Tuesday I went to try for the sand martins again but they seemed a bit flighty. Only to find a kestrel sitting on top of the face were the sand martins nest gave me a good opportunity to get some different shots of this bird.

I love the sandy colour background and the detail in the stones and soils

Bempton cliffs

Yesterday my 7D arrived and off to the coast i went, to find a fantastic day ahead. Gannets collecting grass on the cliff tops provided me a opportunity to put the camera through its paces. A
After much debate regards the sharpness of this camera I can honestly say this camera delivered. I was a bit concerned not taking my D1 MKII so if this camera did not perform I was missing some great shots.

the camera locked on and stayed locked and they are super sharp.
Also i have been photographing Fox cubs and hedgehogs photos to follow soon

Polecat

Sorry for the lack of posts but with work picking up and wildlife to photograph its hard to get time for myself let along the blog. But here we are, i have been photographing Polecat today, with thanks to two new found friends. The weather was a bit mixed with rain, cloud then sunshine but with this gave me a diverse range of lighting that work well.
